About Us

We have been teaching Swing and Lindy Hop classes in Prescott, Arizona since 2017. We are one of only a handful of dance teachers in Arizona who teach Lindy Hop or Country Swing! We are award winning dancers and are highly sought after teachers in Northern Arizona.  We have both have been trained in Waltz, Cha Cha, Rumba, Night Club 2 Step, West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Country Swing, Texas (Progressive) Two Step, Arizona Two Step, Charleston and Lindy Hop by some of the top instructors in the country. We teach Country Swing, Arizona Two Step, Lindy Hop and East Coast Swing, in our hometown and throughout Arizona.

We are excited this year to bring on Dahlia Rose who brings a new dance experience of Tap, American Tribal Belly Dance, Jazz and Musical Theater! More dancing, more fun, more community!

We love dancing and desire to instruct dancers to have fun and to learn and dance well.

Our Philosophy Of dance

We believe that dance should be fun, safe and students should be successful. We believe that starting with the basics and teaching technique and actual dance steps, not just moves, creates good dancers who want to continue to learn and dance throughout their lives. We believe that being good teachers means being good learners and we continue to take dance classes and lessons from top notch teachers whenever possible. We understand that all dancers learn at different rates, come into class with different experience levels and learn in different ways so we try to teach to a variety of learning styles, giving individual support as needed. Our main focus is training dancers well whether that is social dancers in Country Western Styles and Lindy Hop or Tap, Jazz and Belly Dance.

We believe that learning new ways to connect with your own body, with others in a studio class setting and social dance environment and our community as a whole builds better dancers and a better community in which to live and dance. We believe in bringing our dance community together, serving one another and giving back to the communities in which we live, work and play.

Michael is a retired United States Navy Seabee,  proudly serving for 26 years. He began dancing in the early 1990's learning Country Two Step during his shore time while serving in the submarine force.  After not dancing for several years he met the love of his life and partner in marriage and dance, Monique. Michael  is an accomplished musician playing guitar and saxophone for many years and performing throughout the world and the states with Up With People in 1987, giving him a solid foundation in the performing arts. He has many years experience teaching and mentoring during his years of Military service and as a certified life coach. He holds a Bachelor's of Science in History with a minor in International Relations.

When he is not on the dance floor  you can find him smoking or grilling up a delicious meal, in the gym body building, supporting his wife at pinup pageants or playing guitar.

Monique began dance in her childhood with a background in Jazz, modern dance, tap and ballet and has earned a black belt in Shotokan Karate and blue belt in Brazilan Juijitsu. She began dancing East Coast Swing and Lindy Hop in the mid 1990's and was hooked! Monique was a K-12 educator for 20 years before starting a new career in 2014 as a massage therapist and certified functional movement specialist. She has taught swing and Lindy Hop for over 15 years. She taught drama and produced, directed and choreographed 26 productions over 10 years, coached vocalists for 30 years, directed choirs, and lead music at church for many years. She earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education and Special education with minors in Vocal Performance and Liberal Arts in 1994.

When Monique is not cutting a rug with her hubby you can find her in the kitchen cooking up healthy and delicious meals, in the gym body building, pin up modeling or cuddling with their three pugs.

Dahlia has been dancing for over 20 years and choreographing for over 15 years. Her favorite dances include belly dance, tap and jazz as they’re expressive and overall fun. She is passionate about education and inspiration. She has been a part of many collaborative projects over the years including running a belly dance fusion troop with her mom called Wyld Vybe, choreographing and stage managing at Yavapai College from 2016-2019, and choreographing and dance captaining for Prescott Center for the Arts on and off from 2016-2024. She believes it is crucial to move our bodies and feel connected within our community. There is an incredible, overwhelming feeling of confidence and internal strength that comes naturally when dancing often. Dahlia likes to create an enjoyable environment where you can leave your worries at the door and get lost in something bigger than us. Come join Dahlia for laughter, community and empowerment through dance!
